Renewals via Safari on iPads and iPhones

There is currently an issue with catalogue renewals and pop-ups via the Safari browser on iPads and iPhones.

After selecting your items a pop-up comes up asking if you are sure you want to renew, but you get no response when you tap Yes or No.

Solutions:

1. Download the ERL Libraries app from the App Store. On an iPad if it doesn't appear in search results be sure to select iPhone Only from the first drop-down menu in the App Store. It is an iPhone app but can be used on an iPad.

2. Use another browser eg Chrome. The issue only occurs with Safari.

3. Tap in the white area of the pop-up and then tap on the yes button.

Hopefully the issue will be resolved soon.

Cheers, webgurl

Note: Thanks Casey-Cardinia Library Corporation for the tips.

Have you logged into your library account lately?

Did you know that you could view your library account through our website? Once logged in you can not only double check what is on your card, but renew the items as well.
  1. Go to http://www.erl.vic.gov.au
  2. Login at the top right of the website with your userID (starting 20023) and PIN
  3. Click on My Account and select from the menu
If you don't know your PIN you can get it over the phone by calling you nearest branch (via 1300737277) or emailed to you by filling out the online Get a PIN form. Be quick before we go on leave for the Christmas break.

Please note that the Catalogue will be unavailable Christmas & Boxing days due to maintenance.

User is stopped alert on the catalogue

I've received feedback regarding the message User is Stopped when library members log in to their account.  This messsage will appear if you have any outstanding charges or overdue items on your card.

If you see this message you will not be prevented from renewing your items, just click on Renew My Materials and make your selections to renew.  Items may only be renewed once and items on reserve for another borrower cannot be renewed.

Greater flexibility added to the iBistro catalogue

We are happy to announce a few changes to the iBistro catalogue that will give greater flexibility and service to our members. These changes should be occurring tomorrow (Friday 31st October).

Holds on other consortium library items
Members can now place holds themselves on other consortium libraries' items via the web catalogue. To place holds you will need your userID (your library barcode starting 20023) and your PIN (you can phone one of our branches to find out your PIN).

To expand your search to include all consortium libraries just select ALL from the dropdown menu labelled library in the Quick Search box. The Swift consortium, of which we are a member, now comprises 14 library systems around Victoria, with another 2 library systems joining soon.

Renewing with overdues

Members can also renew and place holds through the web catalogue if they have overdue items or charges on their card.

Just a reminder that you are unable to borrow on your card until any outstanding charges are paid.

Cheers, Maryanne

Hours over the weekend/New Year

Just thought I'd better remind everyone of the hours over the weekend and next week as I'm not here on Monday.

Saturday 29th Dec - normal hours
Sunday 30th Dec - all branches are closed
Monday 31st Dec - Yarra Junction, Montrose and Healesville are closed. All other branches open from 10am-3pm
Tuesday 1st Jan - all branches are closed.

View the branch Christmas/New Year opening hours.

If you need to renew your items, make sure you know your PIN number for your library card. You can find this out by contacting library staff on 1300 737 277 during opening hours. You can also apply to receive a PIN via email.

Return items while we are closed through the bookchutes. All branches except Croydon have after hours bookchutes.
