Enterprise catalogue now has automated PIN reset 24/7

PINs are used in conjunction with the library card as a secure way of logging into your account on the library catalogue.

Previously if you've forgotten your PIN, you've had to fill out a form and wait until the next work day. With the recent Enterprise upgrade we can now offer automated PIN reset 24/7. Click the image below to enlarge.

To reset your PIN:

1. Visit the library catalogue.
2. Click the Log In link at the top right. A pop-up box will appear
3. Click the Forgot my PIN link on the pop-up box.
4. Enter your full library card number at the prompt (starts 20023).
5. IF you have an email address attached to your library record, an email will be sent to that address.
6. Click the Reset my PIN link in the reset PIN email you receive.
7. At the prompt, choose a new PIN. 

PINs need to:

• Be between 4 - 10 characters in the interest of your security.
• Have no spaces or use any special characters e.g. ~ ! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) + _ .
• Be either alphabetical (all letters), numerical (all numbers) or alpha-numeric (a mix of letters and numbers).

They can be upper or lowercase. It is not case sensitive, you can type in either case regardless of what was set up at the library.

Email notices

Have you set your library record up to receive email notices for holds and overdues? It's super quick and easy, much better than waiting for paper notices.

Set up your library record:

1. In person - Give library staff your library card number & email address on your next visit and they'll set it up for you
2. Via the phone - Phone 1300 737 277, select your preferred branch and give library staff your library card number and email address
3. Via the website - Contact us through our contact form on the website and provide your library card number and email address.

While you're at it if you can confirm your residential address we'll let you know your PIN so you can login to the catalogue and renew your items or place holds. We even have a PIN application form on the website.

I hope you all had a wonderful break. If you've applied for your PIN through the online form over the Christmas break, bear with me as I sort throught the applications and send them out. I should get them all done today.

Get your PIN

With the Christmas break coming up it's a good time to remind everyone if you are wanting to login to the library catalogue you'll need to know your PIN. If you don't know this you can get your PIN via the phone or email. Have your library card handy. You'll need to provide the library card number on the back and confirm your residential address for security purposes.

• View library hours & phone numbers
• Fill out the Get a PIN form and receive your PIN via email.

Staff will be replying to PIN requests up until 3pm Christmas Eve. The next working day isn't until Monday 29th of December. So it's best to get in early.

Melbourne Cup Day holiday

Tuesday 4th November is the Melbourne Cup Day public holiday and all libraries and mobiles are closed on that day.

You can return items though the bookchute at most of our branches and renew items through the web catalogue if you have your PIN. Be prepared and find out your PIN today by phoning your local branch or via our online form.

Queen's birthday

All branches and mobiles of Eastern Regional Libraries are closed on Monday 9th June for the Queen's birthday holiday. To prevent you incurring fines over the break:

1. Renew your items through the library catalogue (so long as they aren't overdue or have holds on them). Make sure you know the PIN for your library card. You can find this out by contacting library staff on 1300 737 277 during opening hours. You can also apply to receive a PIN via email. It's best to fill out the PIN application today or Friday while staff are at work and monitoring the emails coming in.
2. Return items through the bookchutes. All branches except Croydon have after hours bookchutes.
   
3. If you have any library related issues while the libraries are closed, please fill out our contact form. We will get in touch with you and try to resolve the issue as soon as we are back at work (Tuesday 10th June).
