Libraries closed over Easter

All Eastern Regional Libraries branches and mobiles are closed on the following days over the Easter break:

Friday 10th April - Monday 13th April inclusive

Our libraries will re-open at the normal times on Tuesday 14th April.

If you know your PIN, items may be renewed via the library catalogue. Items may be returned via the bookchutes at all branches except Croydon. Staff will be clearing the bookchutes over the weekend.

Confirming the Christmas/New Year hours

Apologies if anyone was confused by the Christmas message on the 1300 number. We're experimenting with the holiday settings and accidently had it start a day early. Oops! It's a good thing I'm not Santa. The libraries are actually closing today at 3pm.

Update on Christmas hours for the Knox Mobile

I've just received an update on the Christmas hours for the Knox Mobile. It will be closing at 5pm on Tuesday 23rd December 2008. Will resume the normal timetable on Tuesday 13th January 2009.

Christmas & New Year opening hours

I have just added the Christmas & New Year opening hours for our branches and mobiles to the library website. Make sure you know your PIN so you can place holds and renew over the holiday break. If you don't know your PIN please ask library staff on your next visit or fill out the online Get a PIN form and get it emailed to you.

Hours over the weekend/New Year

Just thought I'd better remind everyone of the hours over the weekend and next week as I'm not here on Monday.

Saturday 29th Dec - normal hours
Sunday 30th Dec - all branches are closed
Monday 31st Dec - Yarra Junction, Montrose and Healesville are closed. All other branches open from 10am-3pm
Tuesday 1st Jan - all branches are closed.

If you need to renew your items, make sure you know your PIN number for your library card. You can find this out by contacting library staff on 1300 737 277 during opening hours. You can also apply to receive a PIN via email.

Return items while we are closed through the bookchutes. All branches except Croydon have after hours bookchutes.

If you have any library related issues while the libraries are closed, please fill out our contact form. We will get in touch with you and try to resolve the issue as soon as we are back at work (Wednesday 2nd January).

Branches are open

All branches except Mt Evelyn are open today until 5:30pm (Mt Evelyn is always closed on a Thursday). Our mobile libraries are off the road until Monday 7th January (Valley Mobile) and Tuesday 8th January (Knox and Ranges Mobiles).

Reminder of the Christmas hours

Everyone's so busy this time of year it's often easy to forget a thing like a library book but here's a few tips to make sure you get your items back on time or renewed over the Christmas break.

1. View the branch Christmas opening hours. Note that all libraries and mobiles are closed this year on Christmas eve.
2. Make sure you know your PIN number for your library card. You can find this out by contacting library staff on 1300 737 277 during opening hours. You can also apply to receive a PIN via email. It's best to fill out the PIN application today while staff are at work and monitoring the emails coming in.
3. Return items while we are closed through the bookchutes. All branches except Croydon have after hours bookchutes. Staff will be emptying the bookchutes over the Christmas break to prevent any overflow.
4. If you have any library related issues while the libraries are closed, please fill out our contact form. We will get in touch with you and try to resolve the issue as soon as we are back at work (Thursday 27th December).

Christmas/New Year Holidays

All branches of Eastern Regional Libraries will be closed on the following days for Christmas and New Year.

Sunday 24th December
Monday 25th December
Tuesday 26th December
Sunday 31st December
Monday 1st January

In the week between Christmas and New Year, branches will be closing at 5:30pm weekdays and either 12noon or 1pm on the Saturday. View the Christmas/New Year branch hours for the details. Normal operating hours will return from January 2nd 2007.

• Knox Mobile Library - closed from 4:30pm Friday 22nd December, resuming Tuesday 9th January
• Ranges Mobile Library - closed from 5:30pm Friday 22nd December, resuming Tuesday 9th January
• Valley Mobile Library - closed from 5pm Friday 22nd December, resuming Monday 8th January

Melbourne Cup Day

All branches and mobiles of Eastern Regional Libraries will be closed for Melbourne Cup Day, Tuesday 7th November.

Branches and mobiles will resume normal hours on Wednesday 8th November.

You will be able to return items through the bookchute during this time. Note: Croydon bookchute is closed.

So plan early, either return your items on the weekend or, if you have a password on your card, you can renew your items via the library catalogue. Follow the instructions in the Catalogue Tutorials. If you don't have a password yet apply for one now through the library website.
