Refurbishment for Montrose Library

Montrose Library will be closed on the following dates due to a refurbishment:

Closing 12noon Saturday 29th May and re-opening at 2pm Monday 28th June

We apologise for any inconvenience caused. Please note that the bookchute will be closed during this time, please return items to another branch. You will find that we will be extending the dute dates so items should not be due in this period.

I will be uploading photos of the refurbishment to Flickr and advertising through the blog.

Yarra Junction Library is closed for refurbishment

Just a reminder that Yarra Junction library is closed for refurbishment from Monday 1st March and will re-open on Tuesday 6th April at 10am. Library services will be available via the the Ranges Mobile Library at the rear of Yarra Junction library on the following days: Monday 1st, 15th, 22nd, 29th March
10:30am-1pm.

The bookchute will remain open. You may also return items to any other branch of Eastern Regional Libraries.

I'll organise a Flickr account for them and advertise it here on the blog so everyone can stay updated with the refurbishment progress.

Rowville open, Lilydale closed

Well it's all happening today. Rowville Library has just opened after their refurbishment. You can check out the latest refurbishment pics I've uploaded to their Flickr account.

Also Lilydale Library are now closed for their small refurbishment. Mostly what they'll be doing is taking down the old lime green shelving and replacing it with Rowville's old blue shelving.

Lilydale will be closed from 4pm Sunday 19th July, reopening at 10am Monday 10th August. The bookchute will be open for returns during this period.

New photos of the Rowville refurbishment

I just uploaded a whole stack of new photos to Rowville Library's Flickr account. They've taken down the front desk and have started dismantling the display cabinet. Lots of photos of shelving etc. Not quite as messy as Boronia though.

Mt Evelyn & Rowville Libraries' refurbishment

Sorry I was a bit incommunicado last week, was off sick for a few days. Slowly catching up with everything and that includes the Mt Evelyn and Rowville refurbishments.

Mt Evelyn Library re-opened today to lots of members with lovely positive comments about the recent refurbishment. They said it was more open but still retained the lovely feel it always had. I've uploaded the latest photos sent to me of the library. You can check them out at Mt Evelyn's Flick site.

Rowville Library has now closed for it's refurbishment and will be re-opening Monday 20th July. I will be starting a Flickr account for them as well and will edit this post as soon as I have the address.

Update on Ferntree Gully

Ferntree Gully refurbishment on Flickr

Follow along with the refurbishment of Ferntree Gully library through our Flickr site. We'll be uploading photos throughout the refurbishment. All you need to do is click on the images under Ferntree Gully refurbishment in the sidebar to the right.

This has been extremely popular during the refurbishments of Boronia and Knox libraries.

Ferntree Gully library will be closed from 3pm Wednesday 31st December 2008, re-opening Monday 2nd February 2009 at 10am.

Follow the Knox Library refurbishment

You may have noticed that I've added a Flickr badge to the sidebar on the right hand side of this blog that is showing the latest photos of Knox Library throughout the refurbishment.

I don't know about you but I find the whole process of renovating fascinating, so long as I'm not doing all of the work. So sit back and click on the images to the right to be transported to my Flickr page. Staff will be visiting the library frequently and taking photos, which I'll be uploading to Flickr.

There's going to be a lot of changes including moving the public pc's to the area where the magazines currently reside. Also, the current activity room has been dismantled and a new one will be built in the junior area.

An update on Boronia Library

Boronia Library opened this week after the refurbishments. It looks fantastic! Very spacious, light and with great signage and lots of new display shelving for books and DVDs etc.

I'm just waiting on some final photos of the finished look and I should be able to upload the photos to Flickr by the end of the week or Tuesday next week as well as update the Boronia Library page itself.

Have you stopped by for a visit? Let us know what you thought of the changes and your favourite things in the library. My favourites? I really loved the display shelving in the Teen area and the website address on the wall above the public PCs. I'm looking forward to the ants that are going to be painted on the wall in the picture book section.

Fresh photos of the Boronia Library refurbishment

So far I hear everything is going to schedule. The painted wood panelling on the ceiling of the entrance and teen area look great.

UPDATE: New shelving has arrived and I just uploaded some of the photos. The library is really looking nice.

Boronia Library is closed for refurbishment at the moment, re-opening on the 3rd March. You can stay up-to-date with what's happening at Boronia by viewing the photos I've uploaded to Flickr.
