Dorothy Johnston attributes her love of reading and writing to her need to amuse herself as a child.
Qualified as an English teacher, Dorothy moved to Canberra where her writing career really began in earnest. Dorothy has twice been shortlisted for the Miles Franklin Award for her books Ruth (1986) and One for the Master (1997). Her first crime novel The Trojan Dog featuring computer security consultant Sandra Mahoney was the ACT Book of the Year in 2001. Dorothy’s subsequent books House at Number 10 (2005) and Eden (2007) continue her heroine’s investigations.
