The Eastern Regional Library Show

Library staff member Lesley Conway runs a radio show each Wednesday 12:05pm-12:45pm on Eastern FM 98.1 called The Eastern Regional Library Show. Tune in next Wednesday for a great show.

On this week's show

Keeping up with what is new in the library is as easy as checking out this blog; or via the Catalogue button on the library website, and clicking on New Titles; or if you keep an eye out in your local library for their monthly newsletter. Most of our branches now produce a newsletter, and I can tell you that at Lilydale in August there are two interesting activities coming up.

On Monday 13th August from 12.30pm is Reading Cafe with guest speaker Rosemary Cameron, the Director of this years Age Melbourne Writers Festival. Rosemary will talk about the activities planned for the Festival, and some of the writers who will be attending. There will be a light lunch provided, and there is a cost of $7.50 for the event. Bookings can be made at any of our branches.

And on Saturday 18th August between 1.30pm and 2.30pm there will be a workshop on Beaded Jewellery. If you would like to learn how to make beautiful bead jewellery and be the envy of all your friends, book in for this activity, costing $10 for materials.

I brought along some new books from the shelf at Lilydale today, they were Punchneedle Creations by Pamela Gurney and The Natural Paint Decorator by Lyn Edwards and Julia Lawless.

Note: The New Titles link in the menu at the right will take you to our library catalogue. From there clicking on a link to New Titles in the menu at the top will deliver a menu where you can choose New Adults DVDs, New Adult Fiction, New Audio Books etc. Unfortunately because of the consortium setup I'm unable to directly link to this list.
Cheers, Maryanne
