The Eastern Regional Library Show

Each Wednesday 12:05pm-12:45pm Lesley Conway does a radio show on Eastern FM 99.1 called The Eastern Regional Library Show. Just in from Lesley.

On Wednesday's show

Attractive detectives such at Richard Jury and Lara McClintoch keep readers coming back for more, even if they don't seem to age over 20 years of novels, or if their love lives are irritatingly unresolved. The latest Richard Jury is The Old Wine Shades, and suitably intriguing, as long as you can handle the talking dog. Lara McClintoch travels to the Orkney islands in search of a scam in antique furniture, and is pulled into a mystery surrounding an ancient Viking saga.

Also reviewed by Lyn Baines today was The second wife by Elizabeth Buchan, a sequel to Revenge of the middle-aged woman. The first novel follows Rose through the drama of her husband leaving her for the attractive young woman who is her work assistant, the second describes the difficulties of Minty, the femme fatale of Revenge, in dealing with life as a second wife and mother.

Cheers, Maryanne
