Lantern-making workshops to be held at Belgrave and Ferntree Gully libraries in June

In preparation for the annual Lantern Parade, Belgrave and Ferntree Gully libraries will play host to several lantern-making workshops.

The Lantern Parade is a community participation event with the parade going down Main Street.

Lantern Parade is on Saturday 18th June 5:30pm. Belgrave Library will be open and there will be a storyteller entertaining children at 7pm.

Building women's financial independence - budgeting, planning and saving

Rowville is holding a series of workshops to educate and equip women with a basic knowledge in managing household finances and saving.

The 6 workshops are presented by SIFE Monash, a student run organisation from Monash University, and the program aims to introduce and encourage financial independence among women in an environment of contrasting traditions and backgrounds.

National Youth Week

28th March - 5th April

The theme for this year's National Youth Week is Make a Move and Eastern Regional Libraries are holding some great events:

Bring a graphic novel to life!

Participate in a free hands-on Animation workshop. You will be working with Gregg Brown from Playanimation and you will learn skills including:
  • animation principles
  • character & set design
  • filming.
The workshops are for young people 10 – 25 years who live, work, study or recreate within the City of Knox. There will be free food and everyone will get a DVD of the final animation.
