Born in New Orleans, Kevin Rabalais is now resident in Melbourne, where he is completing his PhD studies. In 2003 and he co-edited a book Novel Voices, interviews with American award winning authors. He has been a regular contributor to The Age, The Australian as well as a number of international publications. His novel the Landscape of Desire is loosely based around the fate of the Burke and Wills expedition, and has been described by David Malouf as "lyrical, precise and mysterious".
