At the stroke of midnight Thursday night Harry Potter will be available on our Overdrive eLibrary

Harry Potter ebooks & downloadable audiobooks will be available for loan from our Overdrive eLibrary from midnight tomorrow (Thursday) night. The launch has been brought forward by a month.

We have a couple of copies of each title and we already have a waiting list of 10 people for the Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone audiobook, so there may be a wait.

You may place yourself in the waiting queue for one of these titles via the Overdrive eLibrary website

New audiobooks in eLibrary

We have just added another 334 audiobooks to the eLibrary collection available through our website by clicking on the 'eBooks eLibrary' button. All of these audiobooks are available to download from home. Amongst the literary gems you can now listen to are Bill Bryson's 'Downunder', Joanne Harris' 'Chocolat', Oscar Wilde's 'The Importance of Being Earnest' and Roald Dahl's 'Matilda'.

Enjoy!

Beat the long waiting queues for paper copies, download an eBook or audiobook

Just got a great tip from Lyn, our Collections Manager. If there's a reasonably long waiting queue for a paper copy of a title and you have access to an eReader, why not check ERL's e-Library - downloadable eBooks and audiobooks.

She's been browsing the fiction titles on e-Library & noticed that Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen is available as an e-book right now. There are about 50 holds on the paper copies.

Other titles available as e-books include Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert, The Fry chronicles by Stephen Fry, Distant hours by Kate Morton, Belle by Lesley Pearse, The help by Stockett. There are also lots of Jodi Picoult, Marian Keyes, Khaled Hosseini too.
