National Storywriting Competition

It's that time of the year and the National Storywriting Competition is now open.

Entry is for Australian residents. Short stories should be original, previously unpublished work and stories should not exceed 3,000 words.

The judge for this year is James Phelan. James Phelan writes both fiction and non fiction and has written for a variety of publications, including The Age and Griffith Review. He is a MA Writing graduate and a current PhD student at Swinburne, where he tutors.

Prizes:
Adult 1st Prize $1500
Local Award $500 For residents in Knox, Maroondah and Yarra Ranges
Teenage 1st Prize $350 13-18 years sponsored by DLS Australia
Junior 1st Prize $250 9-12 years sponsored by The Little Bookroom
