Do you have an interesting family history story to share? If you do, you might like to join staff members Ann Dixon and Gail White for Family History is fun at Ringwood Library on 7th of August from 7.30pm. Ann and Gail have spent many years educating the public in family history matters, and Ann confessed today on the show that she began her personal family researches in 1967, and is still going. She can claim 7 convicts in her family tree, and had an interesting story to relate about one of them -- but you will have to go to the event if you want to hear it.
Ann brought us up to date with the Genie Exchange dates (go to our Family History link to find these), and mentioned that towards the end of July there will be an Introduction to Family History workshop which is not yet on our Calender, but should be within the week.

Another useful suggestion was to make use of the extensive resources of the Church of the Latter Day Saints, who have libraries in various locations in Melbourne, some quite close at hand. You can go to their web page www.familysearch.org for addresses, and a great deal of other helpful information about family history research, but I have included the locations which are easily accessible from the eastern suburbs.
